Dear parents/guardians and the Classes of 2026,
Welcome to Victory Collegiate High School and congratulations on being selected to be a part of the Victory Family!!!!! I am very proud of the work that you have accomplished in Junior High School and eager to begin your High school experience with you! There are many teachers who are excited to meet you. You will see me very often but if you would like to stop by and introduce yourself, I will be in Office 402! Please keep in mind that there will be an in-person New Student Orientation Tuesday, August 30th 11 AM. Please RSVP at the end of this newsletter.

● When does my day start and end?
The first day of school is Monday, September 8, 2022
Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 am - 8:20 am.
School starts promptly at 8:25 am. You will enter through the rotunda located on 6565 Flatlands Avenue between Glenwood RD and Ralph Avenue
School ends each day at 2:40 pm.
● When will I receive my school Metrocard?
MetroCards will be distributed on the first day of school.
● Can my parents walk me to class on my first day?
Sorry, but you are a big kid now! Once you get to school, you can give your family member(s) a big hug and kiss and even take a photo, but you will enter the building on your own.

HOW TO READ MY SCHEDULE

CELL PHONE POLICY
1. Can I use my cell phone during the day?
a. Cell phones are only allowed during your lunch period.
2. Why can’t I use my cell phone during the day?
a. Cell Phones distract students from classroom activities.
b. Cell Phones can be used by students to cheat on exams.
c. Cell Phones give easy access to social media. Social media is not allowed during school time or on school premises.
d. Using cell phones during the school day makes students vulnerable to misplacing their valuable items or unfortunately, having it stolen
3. Can I use my phone during class?
a. You may use your phone in class only if it is approved by the teacher for class research purposes.
4. Can I use my cell phone in the bathroom?
a. No, cell phone use in the bathrooms causes obstruction for young students who need to use the facilities.
5. What happens if I use my cell phone during the day?
a. If a student violates our cell phone policy repeatedly the student will be subject to the following program as a disciplinary measure:

i. Upon arrival at the school, the student will be required to turn off their cell phone and submit it to the assistant principal or Director of school culture
ii. The cell phone will be retrieved by the student at the end of the school day
