By leveraging our diverse culture, our commitment to equity, and support of all stakeholders and partners, we will spark the intellectual curiosity of our students thereby allowing them to be willing to take suitable risks, learn from their mistakes and support each other as we examine social problems, peak social awareness and develop social conscience.
Through the work of ALL, we will graduate socially conscious students ready to work toward personal and community growth.
Implementation of a school-wide focus on literacy-based instruction will engage students in appropriately challenging tasks where students are empowered to take intellectual risks, thereby increasing our student's overall regents pass rate by 10% as measured by the NYS Regents in Living Environment, Social Studies, Math, and ELA.
Claubentz Dieujuste became Victory Collegiate High School’s first Assistant Principal in the fall of 2008, a year after the school opened its doors. He has since been a key member of the Victory family in charge of running the day-to-day operation of to school. His roles included supervising and supporting teachers, overseeing the attendance committee, testing, Advisory, ESL and special Education support and more.
Mr. Dieujuste earned a B.A. in Biology with a Minor in Italian and a Masters in Science Education from Herbert H. Lehman College and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from National Louis University. He began his career as an educator in the summer of 1999 after receiving CUNY’s Teaching Opportunity Program Scholarship (TOPS). In the fall of 1999, Mr. Dieujuste started teaching at East Side Community High School, a progressive public high school on the Lower East Side in NYC. After teaching and learning there for four years, he joined the faculty at Arts and Technology High School, a small high school located on the campus of Martin Luther King High School in Manhattan, working alongside Victory’s founding Principal, Mr. Marcel Deans, as the Director of School Culture.
Mr. Dieujuste believes in creating a school culture with a focus on supporting both the social and academic development of students. In accepting the challenge of becoming the principal after eight years as the Assistant Principal of Victory Collegiate, he carries on the commitment to serve as a role model and to demonstrate for his students that one’s character and intellect are reflected in the choices we make and the very choices we make now can have a positive impact on our future. Mr. Dieujuste believes that, doing what is best for children and their future, is the promise one vows to keep upon joining this noble profession, thus he holds himself and his staff accountable for keeping that promise.
